Why I am seeking re-election for City Council

Ward 8 continues to be at a pivotal point in its growth. The unprecedented challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic reinforce the need to build strong communities for all generations. In Ward 8, this means ensuring that local businesses have the tools they need to succeed, families feel safe traveling close to home, and we have shared green spaces for gathering when indoor options are limited.

Ward 8 has some of the most well established neighbourhoods at our core where families have lived for generations, and new communities like Brighton reshaping the City limits and offering young families the opportunity to build new networks. As the community continues to evolve, I am committed to continuing to pursue the following priorities:

  • Improving safety by ensuring our neighbourhoods are well maintained for all people and modes of transportation.
  • Strengthening our economy and environment by harnessing the skills and expertise of local businesses and organizations.
  • Engaging with neighbours in the ward by listening to your concerns, sharing important information and having open discussions.

As a resident of the ward for three decades, I bring proven leadership. My experience on City Council and volunteering in the community are testimonies to my commitment to strengthen Ward 8 and build community for all generations. Together we have been able to accomplish many of the goals set out in 2016, and have made meaningful strides to ensure the initiatives that are important to residents of Ward 8 are pursued. I am proud of what we have done together and remain committed to this community. I am pleased to announce that I am seeking re-election to Saskatoon City Council’s Ward 8 to build on these past accomplishments and continue working toward our shared future.
